What is

Effective management of complex projects is a key driver of organizations’ success, Project Manager Foundation provides the knowledge and key skills.

To whom it is addressed

To young professionals and talents in any industry who want to enhance their skills in managing and leading complex projects.

Target

The ‘Objective of the course is to develop the fundamental knowledge and skills of project management.

Specifically:

The ability to analyze complex objectives and tasks and to break them down and translate them into simple elements (sub-objectives, activities, outputs…)

The ability to set priorities (in terms of implementation) and take responsibility for choices

The ability to estimate resources and time required to implement activities and to monitor progress

The ability to negotiate the necessary resources

The ability to motivate the people involved for the purposes of meeting the constraints (time and economic)

The course opens with an introduction to what project management is and the role of the project manager.

The main dimensions of project management are then addressed:

Programming and Priorities:

– Dependencies between activities
– The Milestones
– Critical Path
– The Gantt Project

Estimation and control:

– Projects and investments
– The cash flow
– The concept of present value
– The project control
– Methods of detection

Negotiation:

– Definition.
– General principles
– The types of negotiations

Motivation influence:

– Self-motivation
– Resilience
– Sphere of influence
– Locus of control

Methodology

The course, which is highly experiential, involves a multi-methodological approach, will be used:

  • Structured Case Studies
  • Active facilitation tools : mind maps, metaplan
  • Teamwork and assignments
  • Frontal lecture

Selected materials (movies, readings, web resources ) for self-training will also be offered to deepen and consolidate what was learned in the classroom.
